MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - Twenty-four people were injured in separate road accidents on Thursday in the Philippines. In the southern Philippine province of Maguindanao, at least 18 people were wounded when a truck they were riding in overturned in the township of Parang. Mayor Ibrahim Ibay of Parang town said the driver lost control after its brakes malfunctioned. In the city of Tuguegarao in Northern Philippines, six people were also hurt when a mini-truck fell off an eight-meter deep ravine. Superintendent Nestor Bergonia, a provincial police commander, said the truck was on its way to Tuao in nearby Cagayan province when it developed brake trouble and fell into a deep ravine.
