SAN FERNANDO CITY, Pampanga, Philippines - Governor Lilia G. Pineda formally turned-over the other day dozens of newly-completed bunk houses as an early Christmas gift to the 64 landslide-affected families in Barangay San Juan Bano in Arayat town. As was her promise in the early days of her administration, the Pineda ensured the immediate completion of the bunk houses for the safety and well-being of the 64 families who were rendered homeless during the landslide on Sept. 26, 2009.
In behalf of the concerned officials of the provincial government, the lady governor conveyed her thanks and gratitude to all those who helped fulfill her promise to the affected families. "I personally witnessed the sufferings of these families during my frequent visits to the makeshift shelters they stayed in," Pineda narrated as she added that these families were continuously exposed to the weather elements during their more than one year stay in the tents and dilapidated building inside the Mt. Arayat National Park.
