MALVAR, Batangas, Philippines - Police arrested the other day two people allegedly caught in the act of using counterfeit money in a purchase at a store in Barangay Banilad, Nasugbu. Senior Superintendent Alberto Supapo, Batangas Police Provincial Office (PPO), identified the suspects as Rahima Mamadra, 26, a laundry employee and native of Cotabato City, and Narrex Lumanggal, 23, a security guard and native of Sultan Kudarat.

Both of them temporarily reside in Barangay Culiat, Tandang Sora, Quezon City. The suspects bought two bottled salted fish (bagoong) and root crop at a fruit stand of one Twenita Panganiban in Sitio Bayabasan, Barangay Aga, Nasugbu at about 8 a.m.Wednesday. Panganiban told probers that she was paid three fake P500 bills of the suspects. Supapo said the suspects leaved the place aboard a Kawasaki Fury (UC-9522) but were arrested an hour later after they met a road accident in Barangay Banilad. (Ferdinand
