News Update Palace: PNoy likely to spend Christmas with family

While he has yet to make public where he will be on Christmas Day, President Benigno Aquino III will likely spend it with his family, Malacañang said Thursday.

Presidential Communications Operations Office head Herminio Coloma Jr. said Aquino wants to continue his tradition of spending the occasion with his family.

"Tulad ng nakaugalian, ang pamilya ang nangunguna sa pagdiriwang ng Pasko. Malamang kasama niya ang pamilya sa kapaskuhan (Usually he spends the day with his family, which for him should come first," he said in an interview on dzXL radio.

Coloma also said the Palace is not yet aware of where Aquino plans to spend Christmas, saying the president has not made his plans public.

He declined to say if Aquino will spend the day in his home province of Tarlac, in the family-owned Hacienda Luisita, or at their family home in Quezon City.

"He has not disclosed his specific plans," he said.

On the other hand, Aquino earlier said he may spend Christmas Day working and visiting some government offices rendering public service on that day. — LBG/RSJ
