News Update ARMM workers to get extra year-end bonuses

COTABATO CITY, Philippines - Tens of thousands of public servants in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao will have a bountiful Yuletide season this year as Acting ARMM Gov. Ansaruddin Alonto-Adiong assured them of extra bonuses to help them light up their new year's economic prospects. Adiong announced in his first State-of-the-Region Address (SoRA) that public servants in ARMM including regular, casual and contractual workers will receive before the year-end P12,000 each. "We will pursue further the socio-economic development of our people, ensuring their security and the stability of their communities.

This month, we will be giving bonus to the employees of the Autonomous Regional Government," Adiong said. The bonus called Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI) is pursuant to Administrative Order No. 3 signed by President Aquino III which guarantees government employees P10,000 bonus each. P7,000 of the amount will be given by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) chargeable against the unreleased appropriations from 2010 General Appropriations Act, while the remaining P3,000 will be charged from the savings of various line agencies.
