MANILA, Philippines – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) intensified their manhunt operations against suspected sympathizers of slain terrorist leader Osama bin Laden in Mindanao, a military spokesperson said.
Lt. Col. Randolph Cabangbang, spokesman of the AFP’s Western Mindanao Command, said five al Qaeda members are believed to be hiding in Mindanao.
He identified them as Zulkifli Bin Hir alias Marwan, bomb trainer of the Abu Sayyaf Group; Mauwiyah, a Singaporean married to a Tausug; Indonesians Saad and Qayyim; and Amin Baco, a Malaysian.
He said Marwan, who carries a USD$5 million in his head, has been in the country since 2003.
“We intensified our manhunt to get them,” Cabangbang said. - By Jun Pasaylo
