MANILA, Philippines – An estimated 30,000 people trooped to Lingayen Beach Front in Pangasinan to watch the first provincial tour of ABS-CBN afternoon show “Happy, Yipee, Yehey!”
They braved the scorching sun just to get a glimpse of their idols and win big prizes in the television program.
Not minding her condition, disabled Abby Lopez, 68, went to watch the show so that she could see Mariel Rodriguez, wife of action star Robin Padilla, in person.
"Gusto ko talaga siya makita.. nagkasama kami sa pelikula ni Robin," she said.
The Pangasinenses warmly welcomed the “Happy Yipee Yehey” family that includes Toni Gonzaga, Rodriguez, Randy Santiago, John Estrada, Bianca Manalo, Melai Cantiveros, John Prats, Bentong and Matteo Guidicelli.
Teen stars Kiray, Miles Ocampo and Makisig, rapper Andrew E and Mocha Uson performed before the huge crowd.
“Sobrang nakakataba ng puso. Ang dami ng tao dito sa Pangasinan kaya nagpapasalamat po kami," Santiago said.
Estrada said: "Masaya ang stay namin dito… sayang nga lang, hindi nakuha ang handog naming jackpot."
They promised to return to the province to bring joy and fun to their fans.
“Happy Yipee Yehey!” airs Mondays through Saturdays after Showtime on ABS-CBN. -Report from Nevi Calma, ABS-CBN Dagupan
