News Update Philippine IT firm unveils cloud computing services

Manila (Philippine Daily Inquirer/ANN) - A cloud infrastructure provider has launched its cloud computing services dubbed as the "First Philippine Infrastructure as a Service platform". Philippine-based ArcusIT, Inc. with the help of Canadian telecommunications firm Enomaly, Inc., launched the IaaS platform designed for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the country. The bold venture into cloud computing is a "spot-on" solution for SMEs which dared to test the waters of new technology, said Jojo Colina, ArcusIT's Chief Technology Officer. He said the platform will enable local clients to focus more on the firm's core businesses- without huge capital outlays. Enomaly's role in ArcusIT's cloud computing solutions services is to provide "a simple to use yet powerful cloud computing platform," Colina added. He said the country needs a cloud provider that is local as "cloud adopters need to provide clients with lower latency and better application experience." By choosing ArcusIT, clients will be "much closer to their data, for performance and legal concerns," Colina said. Meanwhile, ArcusIT has also placed the Philippines on the international list of cloud-enabled countries through partaking in Enomaly's SpotCloud marketplace - allowing any client across the globe access to ArcusIT cloud server resources. ArcusIT provides cloud computing solutions that meet the demands of local businesses through IaaS, storage, and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. Its data centers are located in Metro Manila, Philippines and California USA. The IT firm has over 15 years of experience in computing hardware, networking high performance computing and service delivery.
