News Update Demand seen for more IT entrepreneurs

CEBU CITY - As Cebu positions itself as a global destination for outsourcing and offshoring (O&O), an information technology (IT) advocacy group here raised Wednesday the need for more competitive middle managers and IT entrepreneurs.

Without middle managers and IT entrepreneurs in Cebu's information and communications technology (ICT) industry, an "imbalance" is created, according to Cebu Educational Development Foundation for IT (CEDF-IT) President Bonifacio Belen.

"We grow so fast we don't have those middle managers. They are young people who have to take on supervisory and managerial roles. Even when we can't hurry maturity, the call of the times is that, like soldiers in a war, they have to mature fast," said Belen.
