News Update Bataan Draws More Investors

HERMOSA, Bataan - The political stability and notable income of Bataeños have prompted businessmen to pour in their investments in Bataan, the latest of which was the opening Friday of a branch of a giant car firm in the strategic village of Palihan, in this town. Businessman Levy Laus, chairman and chief executive officer of the Laus Group of Companies based in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, said in his speech Friday that they were impressed by the big per capita income of the Bataeños, including the friendly ambiance of the province and the political stability existing here. Considered the biggest car distributor in Central Luzon, including imported ones, Laus also cited the strong political leadership of Bataan Gov. Enrique "Tet" Garcia and Mayor Danilo Malana of this town, whom he described as investor-friendly political leaders.

What has further impressed traders to invest in Bataan, Laus pointed out, is the accessibility of the province to nearby Subic in Zambales, Pampanga, and Metro Manila with the construction of the SCTEX road, making Bataan nearer to the said areas. For his part, the governor, in a speech read for him by his daughter Gila Garcia, welcomed the Laus Group of Companies for its trust and confidence in pouring in their investment in Bataan.

"We welcome with great pride, enthusiasm and gratitude, the largest multi-brand leadership network in the Philippines today, the Laus Auto Group, in putting up the first automotive dealership in our province by major, major brand, Nissan Bataan," said Gila Garcia. "Our strong partnership will contribute a lot in our continuous economic growth as one of the most progressive investments destination in Region 3," Garcia added.
