News Update Bulacan Bags Gawad Kalasag 'Hall of Fame'

ALOLOS CITY, Bulacan - The Bulacan Provincial Disaster Management Council (PDMC) won the Regional Gawad Kalasag "Hall of Fame" Award in a program held in Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. Bulacan was conferred with the distinction of being the Most Disaster-Prepared Province in Central Luzon and had been enshrined into the Hall of Fame of Regional Gawad Kalasag after winning for three consecutive years for their exemplary performance in the implementation of disaster risk reduct

According to the Regional Disaster Coordinating Council (RDCC), PDMC's programs and achievements in its 566 Bulacan Rescue Group and Community-Based Flood Mitigation and Management Program serve as encouragement to all local government units in improving their disaster preparedness. The RDCC also conferred a plaque of recognition to the 566 Bulacan Rescue and Bulacan Integrated Rescue Association (BIRA) for humanitarian assistance they made in Pangasinan during the onslaught of typhoons "Ondoy" and "Pepeng" last year. Meanwhile, Bulacan Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy- Alvarado vowed to prioritize and support the program of PDMC by providing them more ambulance and firemen. This is to augment the ready and available support group who will ensure the safety of the constituents in times of emergency.
