ZAMBOANGA CITY - Mayor Celso Lobregat has cited the need and importance of strong collaboration and coordination between the different sectors of the community in managing crisis situations.
The mayor emphasized this, as he commended the police and military and other participants to the Capability Demonstration spearheaded by police and military personnel at the Marine Base in Barangay Cabatangan here.
The demonstration involved three crisis situations, which showed the collaborative efforts of the military and police units in this city, including the Bureau of Fire Protection, the radio group D Alert, Red Cross, medical teams and the media. Also shown was the inter-operability between all units. It was also a show of cohesiveness and proper tasking and everybody did what they were supposed to do, Lobregat said after the demo.
Lobregat stressed that the demonstration showed situations which nobody would like to happen.
"These are situations that none of us wants to be in, a situation that all of us wish it does not happen and will not happen. But when it happens, we have to be there," the mayor here said. (Nonoy Lacson)
