CLARK FREEPORT, Philippines - The officials of Clark Development Corporation (CDC) announced Saturday that employment awaits residents of Central Luzon after 44 companies in this freeport joined the recent Clark Freeport Jobs Fair 2010 held at the SM Event Center, here.
A total of 3,032 applications were received by the various participating companies, the bulk of whom came from Angeles City, Mabalacat, and San Fernando City, all in Pampanga.
It was the 2nd such jobs fair, attracting applicants from all over the region and from other provinces who lined up as early as 9 a.m. to take advantage of the numerous job opportunities inside the Freeport.
CDC's Customer Services Department has in its data bank a total of 4,238 various job openings as of Nov. 4, 2010.
This includes vacancies numbering 1,000 and 1,500 for skilled sewers and production workers in semi-conductor manufacturing, respectively.
The event was jointly sponsored by the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) and the Clark Investors and Locators Associaiton (CILA).
"The program enables CDC and CILA to reach out to qualified applicants who are interested in joining the huge workforce currently employed in the Freeport," said CDC Public Affairs Officer Pete Alagos said.
Ricafort also said that the current employment in the Clark Freeport Zone is expected to breach the 60,000 mark before the end of the year, an all-time high for the former military base.
