News Update Gun ban imposed in Cagayan Valley amid killings

MANILA, Philippines – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief director general Raul Bacalzo issued a directive today suspending all permits to carry firearms in Cagayan Valley with the recent spate of political violence in the province, a radio report said.

At the same time, Bacalzo also dispatched a company of the PNP's Special Action Force to augment the existing police personnel and maintain peace and order in the province, the report added.
