A magnitude-3.1 quake rocked Abra province in Northern Luzon Friday afternoon, but state seismologists said no damage or casualty was expected.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake was recorded at 5:03 p.m., with the epicenter at 29 km northeast of Bangued, Abra.
Phivolcs said the quake was tectonic, and was felt at Intensity II in Paoay, Laoag City and Pasuquin in Ilocos Norte; and Sinait in Ilocos Sur.
No aftershocks were expected from the quake, Phivolcs said.—JV,
