Aquino said the victim had just dropped off his son at an elementary school in Poblacion village when the assailants appeared and shot him several times in the head and body past 0700 a.m. local time before fleeing onboard two motorcycles. "He had received threats from the rebels as he used to work as an intelligence officer of the Maco (municipal) police station, before he was promoted to warrant officer,"Aquino said, adding that the victim's service pistol was still tucked in his waist when responding lawmen found his body.
