News update Drowned teen's body found

THE dead body of a teenager who went missing while swimming in the waters off Sentosa was recovered in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Divers from the Naval Diving Unit found 18-year-old Muhammad Ridzuan Jumali's body about four metres from the shore of Siloso Beach around 4.30am.
They, together with the Police Coast Guard and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), had been combing the waters off Siloso Beach since the teen disappeared around 8pm on Friday night.

The SCDF used an amphibious vehicle and a boat for about four hours, before calling in a naval diving unit to continue the search for the teen.
Muhammad Ridzuan, the second of four children, was part of a group of friends who were picnicing at Siloso Beach earlier on Friday before going swimming. His friends became worried after hearing calls for help and seeing his motionless body in the water.
