Kopi Talk Conflicts over Philippine Airline and Aesop fable.

I always believed in a dead lock situation , the success of coming out with a win situation depend on the urgency of the matter. As for immediate matter at hand without a pilots, the plane do not fly by itself. To communicate effectively it depend solely upon management ability to recongnized their needs and help them fill those need.

When I was six I still remembered the Aesop fable which the wind and sun argued over which was the stronger ? The wind said "Do you see that old man down there ? I can make him take his coat off quicker than you can. "

The sun agreed to go behind the cloud while the wind blew up a storm. However, the harder the wind blew, the more firmly the old man wrapped his coat around him.
Eventually the wind give up and the sun came out from behind the cloud and smiled kindly upon the old man. Before long the old man mopped his brow, pulled off his coat and strolled on his way. The sun knew the secret: warmth, friendliness, and a gentle touch are always stronger than force and fury.

News Update 2 sides talk so that they could resolve the crisis themselves
PAL chairman Lucio Tan and senior airline executives held talks on Tuesday for the second consecutive day with the four cabinet ministers assigned by Mr Aquino to resolve the crisis. Pilots' representatives joined the meetings for the first time on Tuesday, presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda told reporters.

Mr Lacierda said the government's top priority was to have the two sides talk so that they could resolve the crisis themselves. Aside from the immediate issue of the 25 pilots suddenly quitting, the pilots' union also complained that its members were being forced to sign less attractive contracts with PAL's budget subsidiary.

Mr Lacierda said Tourism Minister Alberto Lim had expressed concern that PAL's troubles would further hurt the Philippines' aviation safety rating, after a 2008 downgrade by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

PAL flights to the US West Coast are among its most profitable routes, but plans to increase frequencies were scuttled by the FAA downgrade. 'That was the concern of Secretary Bert Lim - the downgrade by the FAA. That will be addressed,' Mr Lacierda said.

However Mr Bautista emphasised on Tuesday that services to the United States were not immediately in jeopardy. 'We would like to assure you that we will not cancel flights to the US,' he said. -- AFP
