News update DoH warns vs dengue, lepto cases

ILOILO CITY (PNA) - The Department of Health-Center for Health Development (DoH-CHD) 6 warned the public against cases of dengue, leptospirosis, and other diseases that usually rise during the rainy season. The warning was issued in the region after six dengue deaths were already reported from Jan. 1 to May 29 this year. The dengue deaths were from Aklan and Capiz with one each, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental, two each. Reported dengue cases were at 1,653. DoH-CHD 6 Regional Director Ariel Valencia said it is important for the public to start cleaning their surroundings while there is still no heavy rain.
